Our American Plant

Kaneka Texas Corporation (KTC), founded in 1982

Founded in 1982 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaneka Corporation, the plant is located southeast of Houston in the Bayport Industry District at 6161 Underwood Road, Pasadena, TX. KTC started manufacturing operations in 1984 making impact modifier, Kane Ace B, for the plastic industry. Major additions to this plant occurred in 1987 and 1993, making it the largest modifier plant in the world.


In 1990 production of polyimide film began at this site.   In 2008 KTC began manufacture of CPVC resin and in 2009 the MS Polymer facility began producing the first liquid polymer products at this site.

Since 2006 KNL has been manufacturing an array of unique nutritional ingredients for the supplement and food & beverages industries. Kaneka is the largest manufacturer of CoQ10 in the world, and the only company that manufactures CoQ10 in the U.S. since 1997. It is the primary brand of CoQ10 used in FDA-approved National Institutes of Health-funded clinical trials and has been used in the vast majority of all other clinical trials over the past 30 years. The facility is located at 6250 Underwood Rd., Pasadena, TX.

International Probiotics Association (IPA)

The International Probiotics Association (IPA) is a global non-profit organization bringing together through its membership, the probiotic sector’s stakeholders including but not limited to academia, scientists, health care professionals, consumers, industry and regulators. The IPA’s mission is to promote the safe and efficacious use of probiotics throughout the world. Holding NGO status before Codex Alimentarius, the IPA is also recognized as the unified Global Voice of Probiotics® around the world.

Council for Responsible Nutrition

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), founded in 1973 and based in Washington, D.C., is the leading trade association representing dietary supplement manufacturers and ingredient suppliers.

International CoEnzyme Q10 Association

The International Coenzyme Q10 Association was founded in September 1997, by renowned international scientists, nutritionists and doctors. Its head office is at the Institute of Biochemistry of the University of Ancona, Italy. The Association is a non-profit organization that aims to promote basic and applied research on the biomedical aspects of Coenzyme Q10 in order to disseminate knowledge on basic biochemistry and on the preventive and/or therapeutic effects of Coenzyme Q10. Kaneka Corporation has been a member of the Association since its founding.
